when paula first reached out to me, she had no idea we had a great little town in common and much more. when i met with paula and i listened to her tell me the story of her and mike and her eyes welled up... mine did too. it's not some dramatic story of tragedy and triumph, but i could tell how deeply paula felt for mike and that moved me. i knew we were the right fit for one another... it also doesn't hurt that she is a major animal lover like myself...
paula and mike had the honor of being the first wedding that their friends trish and don would host at their estate in bucks county, pa. a quaint piece of property with a picture perfect home, a beautiful backyard garden and an awesome old barn that were opened up to paula, mike and their friends and family by trish and don.
love the shot of these two...
mike's awesome shoes...
love the light that was cast into the barn in the afternoon...
love this...
i'll take an old buck's county barn with warm afternoon light and an awesome couple any day...
i love the use of couches and beds as seating for guests...
love this expression right before the procession...
i love the idea of friends officiating ceremonies. they always seem so much more intimate. i watched as each and every guest was truly engaged as the story of paula and mike was told. what a great ceremony!
paula tries to hold back the tears...
i loved the beautiful textiles used throughout estate...
a lovely cocktail hour as the sun set...
sometimes i let other people direct...
when i showed up to the house, the dining room was filled with insane desserts. i asked who the baker was because they looked insanely beautiful and delicious. when paula told me trish had made all of them and that was not her profession, i was in awe.
when all of the desserts were displayed, i overheard someone say, 'this is a sinful display'... that it was.
mini milkshakes...
the bed came in use at the end of the night when i found 3 kids asleep on it...
it was such a wonderful opportunity to shoot a wedding in beautiful buck's county, pa. a special thanks to trish and don for opening their home and property to me. it was such a pleasure to work with paula and mike and to be a part of such an important day.
i'd like to dedicate this blog to samson, a dog that i never got to meet, but know i would have loved...
