alicia & erik

erik's friend francisco welcomed us all into his swank penthouse apartment to shoot photos. i loved his white couch and awesome black shag carpet...

this is what i call a 'mr. president' shot...

what did we do before digital cameras?

instant gratification...

i recently gave in and got an iphone.. and now i know why... so i could photograph erik and his brother together since his brother had forgotten his.

i'm sure it has been done before, but i can't resist when these things line up...

apparently this whole area is a 'no standing' zone...

love a light drizzle and a cobblestone road...

blue details....

double expression...
...and another iphone

mirrors...sometimes you love 'em, sometimes you hate 'em.
today, i loved them.

this is what a violin from 1719 looks like.

happy moms...

jumping the broom...

loving the mirrors again...

after i took this shot, someone informed me that this couple was getting married in 3 weeks, how sweet...

this was my first part swedish wedding. erik, his family and many of the guests were from sweden and so much of the reception had a swedish flair to it. one thing i learned is that the swedes like to toast a lot. skoal!

one of the 'toasters', as i would like to call them, gave a presentation. below he shows his scientific research on the core human needs...

another scientific chart showing what love is...

...but of course, love is 68% 'all you need'

it wouldn't be a swedish wedding without viking paraphernalia...

awesome blue theme....
here, francisco checks his iphone (it is everywhere!)...

blue dessert theme.... mmmm....

alicia and erik's wedding was held at studio 450 in manhattan. the blue theme and bright, white palette was so fun to photograph. thanks to alicia and erik for braving the rain. it was a lovely introduction to swedish weddings! shot with todd laffler.

  1. Michelle, these are awesome! That shot of Alicia with the Studio 450 sign, is that one exposure with Eric out of focus on the left hand side!? Great stuff. Thanks for all your help on this one!
